Hello - Share Pictures and Chat With Your Buddies

Hello is a new tool from Picasa that allows you instantly send your pictures to your friends and talk about them.

When you use Hello, you get to see your photographs together with your friends online. You don’t have to wait for huge email attachments to download or upload your pictures to a public website. Just point at a picture and you can tell the person who sent it exactly what you think. With just one click, you can get the original high-quality, full-sized file to print.

When you use Hello and Picasa together, your received images will instantly appear in your Picasa folders.

Google Talk Labs Edition released !

Google Talk Labs Edition is an experimental version of the Gtalk client. It has many of the same features as the Google Talk Gadget, including instant messaging, emoticons, and group chat. Some features like voice calling and file transfer from the Google Talk client did not make it into this version.

Google Talk Labs Edition also comes with new desktop notifications from Calendar, Orkut, and Gmail.

Currently, Google Talk Labs Edition is only available for Windows PCs.

IM-Speak Bot for Google Talk to Save the Earth

Google Talk Chatback Badge - Chat With Your Website Visitors Over Gtalk

Gmail Chat Added "Invisible" Status Option

Gmail Chat now supports invisible mode. Now when you log in, you can see your contact list online, but they won't be able to see you're online.

Please note that you won't be able to change your status to invisible on Google Talk Gadget or Desktop Client because they don't support this new feature yet.

Translation Bots for Google Talk

You can now use Google’s Translation service from inside your chat window via new translation bots.

If you want to try it, just add en2zh@bot.talk.google.com as a friend in Google Talk and send it a message to translate from English to Chinese.

For more languages, just add any of the 23 other translation bots. They're named using two-letter language abbreviations as "[from language]2[to language]@bot.talk.google.com", and the supported language pairs are: ar2en, de2en, de2fr, el2en, en2ar, en2de, en2el, en2es, en2fr, en2it, en2ja, en2ko, en2nl, en2ru, en2zh, es2en, fr2de, fr2en, it2en, ja2en, ko2en, nl2en, ru2en, zh2en. So, for French to German translation, talk to fr2de@bot.talk.google.com.

Share Your Google Reader Feeds With Your Google Talk Friends

"One of my favorite uses for Reader is to share interesting stuff with my friends. I click "Share" whenever I find an interesting item, be it hilarious or serious. This way, all my friends can subscribe to my shared items (and I to theirs), and we can easily see if a friend has found something interesting. This can be inconvenient, as I have to distribute my shared items link to my friends and vice-versa.

So, we've linked up Reader with Google Talk (also known as chat in Gmail) to make your shared items visible to your friends from Google Talk. Once you've logged into Reader and been notified of the change, these friends will be able to see your shared items in the Reader left-hand navigation area under "Friends' shared items.."

Gmail Chat Added AIM Support

Gmail chat users now have the option to sign in to their AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) account to chat with their AIM buddies from Gmail.

AIM buddies will populate you contacts list, and are searchable just like your Google Talk contacts.

To start chatting with your AIM buddies just click on a name in your chat list, and start typing.

Note that an AIM account is required to use this feature. AIM in Gmail is not a Google Talk and AIM federation; it's the ability to sign in to your AIM messaging account from Gmail. Gmail uses Open AIM to provide this feature.

Google Added New Smileys and Group Chat Feature to Gmail Chat

Google added group chat feature to Gmail chat. This feature lets you chat with many friends at once. There's no limit to the number of people you can chat with, and any participant can invite others to join. To get started, follow these steps:

1. Start a chat with a single person in your Contacts list.
2. Once you've started the chat, click Options at the bottom left of your chat window and select Group Chat.
3. In the field labeled 'Add a person to this chat,' enter the name of the contact(s) you want to add to your group chat.

You can use the newly added emoticons by clicking blue smiley-face button at the right of the text-entry field.

Google Talk is now avaliable in 20 languages : English, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Danish, Dutch, British English, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Spanish language, Swedish, Thai, Turkish and Vietnamese.

To use Google Talk in your mother language, visit the Google Talk home page and choose your language from drop-down menu in the top right corner of the page. Now the page will translated to your language.
