Web-based multi-protocol instant messaging service Meebo is coming to the desktop. The Windows-only downloadable notifier sits in your taskbar, signs you into your various IM accounts, alerts you to new IMs, and optionally notifies you when friends sign online and off.

With Meebo Notifier you don’t have to keep Meebo open in your browser. Rather, if you receive a notification, you can click on it to open Meebo and respond accordingly.

You can log into Meebo automatically when your computer starts up and—with a single click—open a browser directly to your Meebo session.
