Google Talk does not provide a built-in functionality to allow you to control your idle status.

There are probably times when you'd rather not let people know you're around. gAlwaysIdle allows you update your status to 'always idle' so you appear away even when you're typing e-mails and sending instant messages.

Similar to 'always idle', it lets you update your status to 'never idle' when you're away from your computer.

    hi...

that's a neat technology, but what;s the use of it?

Is the BUSY red icon not sufficient to indicate that the user is currently doing online work

    In fact IDLE means free.......hmmm

so, don't we need to rethink it's use?

    :)

I don't know about others, but I use it so that people don't know I'm ignoring them! :) If I have the red icon, it turns yellow when I'm gone, and then it's pretty obvious when I get back because it goes from red to yellow... when it's yellow all the time, nobody knows whether I'm at my computer or not, and I'm free to respond at my leisure, or selectively respond to people.

Such a great idea! I'm on my computer pretty much all day long but am not always in the mood to chat.. well, it depends on the conversation topic.. so I find this program really useful because I don't want to be rude to people. Thanks!

your thoughts match mine... I do agree with you. some time we dont want people to know we are there... some time we feel "u there?" message irritating, So this app is really very useful in such situations... :)
